The Scientaiment of Soccer

In my quest in capturing some rather unprecedented moments, and bid to tell stories with pictures,  I came across this local football Academy during one of their training sessions. Football has always been a sport that fascinate me.
Aside the sport being an exceptional entertainment, it also shows a group of individuals battle in fairness to show their skills, flair, technical ability as well as tactical ingenuity. As oppose to the real battle field where blood are shed, the soccer field in contrast, shows a duel between two opposing groups with great entertainment to the delight of their spectators. The passes, the first touch, the dribbles, the runs, positioning, anticpation, off the ball movements, the shots and lots of other technical, physical and mental abilities makes the soccer such an interesting sport. The ever continuous runs within a time frame is a science I attribute to personal consciousness and group awareness. For without group play, even the best team cannot achieve its desired result. The sport struck me so much in terms of it group work as well as its division of labour. Each player has an assigned role in the group play, yet also assist in other roles as often demanded by the changing phases. The transition between defend and attack shows specialisation in the group play yet the spirit of collectivism is a dominant aspect of the games. The tempo of play and sudden change of it as always seen often create suspense to the delight of the spectators.
In movie making, a director has an overall idea of the general outlook of the movie to be shot but in soccer, no matter how tactically sound a coach may be, he can only hope for a positive result. While in some cases, the probability of the result in favour of a particular team is often higher only in terms of the quality of players between the two teams and tactical prowess. However, nothing is assured, only a 90-minutes play can set the difference and the class one team enjoys over the other.....

Just thinking......
