Holding onto that Dream

Each new day affords us the opportunity to learn something new either through people around us, things we see, our miscalculated steps, from movies we watch, from things we get involved… knowingly and unknowingly, consciously and unconsciously, we become a new being with each passing day. Whoever said learning is a continuous process from cradle to grave must have had some sort of spirit or divine inspiration working with him at that time. Inspiration – Talent – Moments – Creativity What an order! Maybe it’s just my imagination playing tricks on me but whatever it is, this is not just another moment. Must have had similar moments, feelings countless times in my life but this is not one of those. It’s different and I can feel it. My spirit has been lifted in a different way with a passion to do something new, something different, and something outstanding. It is a different twitch altogether. This same inspiration, a willing force, has pushed me to pen this moment down. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not the type that documents his activities but this is different. I have dream to do something different in my chosen profession, to be outstanding in whatever field I find myself… to achieve excellence but the question of ‘HOW’ has been a mystery. We strive every day and night to be someone different, to do something new but we still follow conventionalized system, blindly following established rules and theorems, never bother to challenge them… thus we end up in the “rat race”. A race many have accepted without questioning, many tried to beat but falter along the way, subdue and suppressed by the exhilarating forces and pressure of the race. Only a few ever beat it creating a different path for themselves and for others to follow. Today, I stand upon a lifelong vision, a vision in the process of actualization but recognizing the challenges to come, the prize to pay… for the prize of excellence is success. With each passing day, a fresh challenge, a new inspiration with a refreshing zest to achieve more than the ordinary. For the first, this vision made me cry, not because of the floors I might make but for the determination to win. Right now my heart is heavy for there is a lot I have to meet and I am determined more than ever to win. Everything happening at the same time.

Adekscubes Journal, 12/08/2011 A new feeling? Familiar but strange...! How did it all begin? where do i begin?... Love? Love is born out of, among other things, neccesity. one always knows his wants better than his needs. Falling in love is like walking down d landscape of self, unattended, unadorned, exploring d purest inner part of the soul. it is a place of dazzling brightness. The road is sometimes welcoming and its wide passages offer endearments with each step only to narrow a footpath that lead me boatless, to the edge of a vast and encompassing ocean... of thy love. Occasionally, my willingness to negotiate the perils will endear me to arrive strong, brighter of spirit, to a place that sprouts yam and balls of cotton at my footfall. You have tinkled something in me, wrought me into a new being, and what you have wrought is something new about life. What you have wrought is always pointing towards moving the harbourless part of me being closer to self actualization. Most of the truly important moments of our lives go by unnoticed. We recognize them only in retrospect after we have chosen one road or the other and have seen where it has taken us do these moments have any resonance. Sometimes, you are privileged to recognize these moments when they occur, and from one day to the next, life, in a single stroke of gluttony, has knocked over the lamps and rearrange the maps. Towards the end of the second quarter, mid-first semester in OAU, 2011, i was asked to direct a particular group (group 9). Having rejected similar request from other group due to my tight schedule, this, i accepted. Though, it wasn't convenient for me but i accepted nonetheless. This, has faith will have it gave me the opportunity to meet a new inspiring and interesting world of you. From the moment i met you, d universe stuttered and everything fell into a new place. Although, d act of falling in love is to enlarge both the say-able and unsay-able but most the unsay-able. A deeper greener feeling that no one can touch except the ONE. I cannot describe or even relate what i felt. Suffice it to say it was a birth, a baptism, a resurrection, and a redemption all rolled up in one. it is the beginning of my consciousness that i have found my self a treasure. . .You! I am now opened to and given a world that contained my image, world so rich and varied, mark and marking, soaring challenges but mostly beautiful and at crucial compliment with the larger world that contained it... A world of You and I, of US.

The Organization Afri-Resonance is an organisation established by a group of young, vibrant, dynamic, versatile and goal-oriented individuals with the aim of promoting African norms and value. We are young individuals with a penchant for excellent. Afri-Resonance is established with the objective of educating, sensitizing, and creating opportunities for the youth as well as promoting indigenous talents. At the core of our programme, we sought to create new ideas in combating of HIV/AIDS and other related diseases using socio-cultural approach. Afri-Resonance embraces a holistic artistic philosophy that celebrates talents, expression and discovery. OBJECTIVES Project African norms and values.
