Nemanja Vidic Names Top Three Strikers

Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the best strikers in the world...

Nemanja Vidic has named the three strikers that he believes are currently the best in the world and has chosen one from England, Spain and Italy.

The Serbian defender does not relish playing against Liverpool's Fernando Torres in the league and would see the task of marking Samuel Eto'o or Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a tough one.

Torres has a good record against United since he moved to Anfield and stood out last term as the Reds came close to pipping their arch rivals to the title.

Eto'o and Ibrahimovic created the story of the summer as they were swapped for each other by Barcelona and Inter and debate has raged about who has the better deal.

While others discuss that issue, Vidic cannot decide between the pair and thinks that they are both world class.

“It’s tough to pick out one name when it comes to Europe’s best strikers but if I could pick three I’d select Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Zlatan Ibrahimovic," he told redrants.com.

“These guys are at the top of their game.”

Chelsea Dismiss Roman Abramovich Health Concerns

Russian tycoon allegedly collapsed during attempted mountain climb...

Chelsea have dismissed reports that billionaire owner Roman Abramovich collapsed in an attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro last week.

It was claimed that Abramovich experienced altitude sickness and developed respiratory problems during a failed attempt to ascend the Tanzanian mountain.

However, Chelsea insist that the Russian did not require medical attention and also deny that former coach Guus Hiddink was in the expedition.

"Roman Abramovich did not collapse, develop respiratory problems, altitude sickness or require medical attention during his recent trip to Mount Kilimanjaro," a club spokesman said, according to ITV.

"The expedition was properly prepared and those in the group who wanted to reach the summit did so without incident.

"Furthermore, despite claims to the contrary, Guus Hiddink was not a member of the expedition, as he was in Britain leading the Russian national football team to victory over Wales."

Chelsea were forced to respond after reports claimed that Abramovich ran into problems when the 42-year-old and a group of six friends set out to conquer Africa's highest peak.

It was alleged that they failed to prepare or train sufficiently to cope with the altitude and the expedition had to be cancelled at 15,000 feet after Abramovich fell ill.

Arsenal Fans Demand Long Ban For Emmanuel Adebayor

A Gunners fan representative wants the striker punished.

The secretary of Arsenal's north-west supporters' club, Terry Milner, has called on the FA to hand a hefty punishment down to the Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor for his actions in Saturday's win over the Gunners.

The Togo international looks to have landed himself in hot water for an alleged stamp on Robin van Persie and for his extravagant goal celebration, incidents which the FA have confirmed they will now investigate.

Milner, however, is in no doubt that the striker deserves to be punished and is clearly expecting a hefty penalty.

"I hope they don't put the two incidents together and effectively let him off with one," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"What he did to Van Persie was assault and that alone probably deserves a five-match ban. Then there's the fans incident. I think Gary Neville was charged for something similar against Liverpool a few years back so there's that too."

Milner also insisted he believed the striker’s goal celebrations were pre-meditated and insisted there was no excuse for his behaviour.

"My feelings towards this is that it proves how little class he has about him. It was pre-planned, there was no way that was off the cuff," he added.

"I understand that some fans have booed and jeered him and I saw things being thrown on the pitch, plastic chairs and stuff, which was wrong. But what the hell was he doing?

"He is earning, reportedly, £180,000 a week and he should be able to rise above booing and name calling.

"If you gave me £180,000 a week you could call me anything you wanted.

Xavi: Guardiola & Mourinho Are Obsessed With Football

The midfielder says Pep is the best coach he has ever had.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has told AS that Pep Guardiola is the best coach he has ever had and also remembers "excellent" memories of Jose Mourinho's time at Camp Nou.

""I was there for almost three years with him [Mourinho] when he was an assistant for Van Gaal. I learned a lot from him," said Xavi.

Having worked with both the creative midfielder drew comparisons between the two "obsessed" coaches.

"Like Guardiola he appears obsessed with work. The two of them are football sick. Mourinho is probably more attentive to the defense while Pep is more romantic, he wants to play well to win."

"Pep is the best coach I have ever had."

Xavi also says that the game against Inter will be a kick-start to the season for Barca.

"These games serve to make you jump right into the season. It is a great challenge in a hard group with four national champions. We must fight, and that is something we like," he said.

Manchester United To Swoop For Sevilla Striker Luis Fabiano - Report

The English champions want the prolific Brazilian to fire them to glory in the second half of the season...

Manchester United are to test Sevilla’s resolve by bidding for Luis Fabiano in the January transfer window, according to reports in the English press.

The People comments that manager Sir Alex Ferguson is an admirer of the Brazilian, who has the started the campaign in flying form for both club and country, and has decided to offer for the 28-year-old in January, despite him being ineligible for the Champions League.

Fabiano came close to a move to AC Milan earlier this year but the club could not agree a fee for the former Porto man, and much to the player’s disappointment, he remained in Andalusia.

According to the English tabloid, a source close to Fabiano said this about his future, “Luis Fabiano was unhappy with the failure of his move to AC Milan, and he has decided not to speak about his future until there is a concrete offer. He is concentrating on doing well with Sevilla, but it pleases him that big clubs are interested in him.”

Fabiano netted twice in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Real Zaragoza, adding to his double for Brazil against arch rivals Argentina in World Cup qualifying, and Ferguson sees him as the man to fire The Red Devils to their fourth Premier League title in a row.
